The Hammocks - Architectural Review Board (ARB)

The Architectural Review Board (ARB) has been established to ensure that development occurs in accordance with The Hammocks Design Guidelines and Restrictive Covenants (available for download in the Members area). These guidelines have been established to assist all property owners in the planning and construction of their new homes and any improvements to existing homes. The guidelines are intended to protect the existing property owners and to provide a uniform review process for approval by the ARB. We naturally expect these guidelines to be revised from time to time as requested by The Hammocks Property Owners Association.

Within the guidelines, you will find recommendations and performance levels established by the ARB. These guidelines are intended to establish a standard of environmental compatibility that will protect and preserve the natural character of The Hammocks. Homes and related structures proposed for The Hammocks will be reviewed for compliance with the Design Guidelines. The guidelines provide the direction needed to reduce the visual and physical impact of building on the island. Homes built in accordance with the Design Guidelines should harmonize with the native character of the island, and preserve your privacy and that of your neighbors.

Members that would like to apply for new construction, changes to the exterior of an existing home and/or changes to the configuration of property (e.g driveway, concrete pads, tree removal, outbuildings, retaining walls, ...) should consult with the ARB Chairman to discuss your plans, seek guidance and gain approval before moving forward.
